i agree with all the previous commenters on this article; bloodsports are just cruel and as a former conservative voter and party member myself I find it disturbing the mindset of "if it roams free, lets kill it" that runs through the party and my own sense of humanity would never allow me to vote for a party or candidate that endorsed the repeal of the hunting ban.

I agree it seems like our M.p. Danny has a kind of blood lust, what with the pursuit of the uneatable in the company of the unspeakable . You would think that a harmless country pursuit enough, but no our Danny also advocates the culling of badgers in our fair county!

I say SAVE THE BADGER !

"Otis Ferry, joint huntmaster, said they had temporarily lost control of the hounds."

That fellow is a total prat. Perhaps he temporarily lost control of his mind when he broke into the House of Commons. In almost any other country he would have been shot by guards.

I am a countryman and was a Conservative until 1999 and their attitude to fox hunting and hare coursing was, in part, why I left them. They are relics of a bygone era and fully deserve to lose the Election.

I hope and pray that the Hunting Act is not repealed or otherwise undone. We British led the way in banning the slave trade and in banning slavery in the Empire, we led the way in banning bear baiting and cock fighting, and we led the way in banning hunting and hare coursing. We must continue to make progress and not let our civilisation take a backward step. And, besides, if Cameron, Hague, Herbert, etc., think that repeal would be a vote winner in rural areas, they are very much mistaken.

And please, readers, don't forget the vile 'sport' of hare coursing -

It's good to see someone else who feels the same way I do - the hunt have no regard at all for private property, other people's animals, other road users (I have been forced off the road both when driving and riding on many occasions by hunt followers) or wildlife. They think they are allowed to break the law as it suits them - unfortunately this incident at Cruckton will only reinforce that belief.

It wasn't the first time that day the hounds were out of control, either, or in danger of killing people's pets. Earlier that day they were seen heading towards the A488 at Hanwood, and were behind a housing estate there where people walk their dogs/people's cats are often seen out. They were witnessed chasing a fox then, but because the witness didn't have a camera to hand they can't prove this. I daresay if he had gone out with a camera the hunt would have intimidated him into stopping filming anyway.

It's obvious the hunt aren't following a drag trail - they could have avoided the A488 (and the lady's land at Cruckton) very easily if they were. Getting sufficient proof is another matter.

Needless to say I won't be voting for Daniel K, as I know he supports the repeal of the hunting ban. What needs to be done it to tighten the act up, not repeal it and give free rein to the hunts to partake in cruelty to wildlife.

It's not just fox hunting, of course - if the act gets repealed then other forms of hunting with dogs including hare coursing will also be legal again.

Hi Colin

thank you for the comment and pointing out my error. All is corrected now and I have to say that any member of parliament who abuses their expense claims is betraying the public
